Subject: Travel to visit the gypsies

Hi Everyone,



Please pray for Jackie and me as we travel to the coast early tomorrow (Tues) to visit the Romane gypsies. It is said that there is a lot of poverty there as well as other bad things (won’t go into detailJ) that occur in these communities, so pray for the Lord’s protection, wisdom, and discernment as we visit these tent communities.



Today’s visit with the mayor, professors, and teachers went well. It is very apparent that the Profamiliar program is really making a difference. It’s sad to hear the many stories of children being abused, neglected, and enduring much pain. It’s crazy how drugs and alcohol are tearing families apart here in Chile. Thank God for those who are intervening in their lives. Children are being transformed and having the opportunity to simply be a child.

Subject: Made it safely to Santiago



Hi Everyone,



I made it to Santiago, Chile safely. Everything went well. These two days have been pretty busy. Yesterday I had the opportunity to visit a community where former drug addicts and former drug traffickers were meeting to be trained as literacy trainers. These men and women received Christ and are being transformed by His Word and now they want to give back to their community by teaching people how to read and write and sharing the Gospel. It was amazing to listen to former drug dealers share how sorry they were for tearing apart families and then to hear drug users say that these same guys sold them the drugs that tore their families apart. Yet now they are brothers in Christ, redeemed, and fellowshipping together. Amazing!



They also blessed me. The leader of the group said to me that he wanted to pray for me because I blessed them by taking the time to visit them which showed them that God loves them and cares for them. So the only gift he could give me was to pray for me. Such a blessing!



Well, tomorrow begins the day of many meetings-lol. Pray for Jackie and I as we meet the different people and travel to the different locations. Pray for strength, grace, wisdom and protection. Thank you all for covering us in prayer.
